WALKING FADO FOOD TOUR

BAIRRO ALTO/ MOURARIA/ ALFAMA

Fado is more than a mere musical style, it is a particular form of the feeling and sung expression of the Portuguese soul. The origin is still something uncertain, being that to the traditional music joined numerous influences of Brazil, Africa and even of the Middle East. But it was in Lisbon in the eighteenth century that this amalgam of sonorities and melancholy laments came together and created what is nowadays recognized as Fado. The Fado is essentially a genre that has a nostalgic record, with a tendency to themes such as Love (often lost or unrequited), bohemian life, moments linked to daily life and the most disadvantaged classes.

Ótimo passeio! Great tour!

The Half day tour was an amazing experience to visit Fatima Shrine and to treasure the memoirs we have spent in this exquisite trip. Ricardo, from the Cooltour tour guide, was absolutely fantastic in sharing his knowledge about the history of Fatima and the three little shepherds Lucia, Francisco and Jacinta.

A must on your visit to Portugal! This was our 3rd tour on our 10 day trip to Portugal and it was absolutely perfect! My wife, daughter and I were with 4 others and Fabian our guide was absolutely fantastic. His knowledge of the history of the areas and all of Portugal made it even more magical! Cabo da Roca was one of my favorite stops of the entire vacation! Wear sneakers for some of the hills but the beauty of all the sites is worth the small hikes! Show less Date of experience: July 2019

“Great tour”

Ines was an absolutely fantastic guide. This tour was worth it because of her. She took us to all of the places of interest included in the tour, allowed us to choose the order, gave us great recommendations for lunch, and was overall very informative. She led us through guided tours both inside and outside of the van and the information she provided off of the top of her head was outstanding. She was able to answer any and all questions. Despite the rain, this tour was truly amazing.

I would 100% recommend taking a tour to Sintra. First of all, Ricardo our tour guide was superb. Super knowledgeable and had all the tips. It was a really professional service. The tour itself was great. We got to see all the main sites and it was made so easy by tour. I know it's nice to explore some places one your own but I'd recommend a tour to get the most out of Sintra if you're on a tight travel schedule.
